We have an opening for a kennel assistant/cleaner and/or technician. Kennel duties include feeding, medicating, cleaning and exercising the animals staying in our facilities. Cleaning duties include the kennel and the hospital. This is an entry level, part to full time position. Applicant must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays. A love for animals is a must! Must also be reliable, honest, cheerful, self-starting and a team-player.

Technician duties include, but are not limited to: triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. We cross train and the candidate will work in reception as well. This is a part to full-time position. Must be available all days of the week including weekends and holidays. On-call rotation is required as well.

Applicants should be computer literate and have excellent customer service skills. Candidates should have the ability to function in a fast-paced environment with compassion, efficiency, and flexibility. WANTED: KENNEL TECHNICIAN

This represents a list of essential job duties. Other duties or special projects may be assigned as needed.

Properly clean and disinfect stainless steel dog and cat cages and dog kennels.

Properly feed and water dogs, cats and other animals based on age, size, weight and condition.

Provide excellent assistance to customers who are interested in adopting a dog or cat or who are looking for their lost pet.

Notify kennel supervisors or veterinary personnel of sick or pregnant animals.

Safely and properly handle all animals including bite quarantine animals, vicious animals and feral cats.

Assist with enrichment activities – play groups, treat distribution, dog walking and socializing in play yards.

Process dogs, cats and other animals during intake to include entering data correctly in animal management software, vaccinating animals, deworming animals, taking pictures, scanning animals for chips and looking for ID tags.

Update animal management software when an animal’s status has changed or if it is moved to a new location.

Euthanize animals or assisting with euthanasia.

Take specimens of rabies suspect animals.

Transport sick or injured animals to offsite veterinarians or outreach events as needed.

Job Details:

Driving to and from clients homes to pick up their dog for walks, hikes, and adventure daycare.

Walking 2-5 miles a day. Applicants must be in good shape and apply to walk in all types of weather.

Handling 2-3 dogs at a time on a walk and in a park

Visiting cats in their homes and caring for them. I.E feeding, litter box cleaning.

Occasional in-home sitting dogs at clients home or boarding in you home

WANTED: DOG BATHER / GROOMER

The Bather/Groomer's responsibilities and duties will include:

Ensure all baths are scheduled with the correct pick-up time for each day. If any pick-up times are not specified it is their responsibility to notify the front desk to get in touch with the owner to receive a pick-up time.

Responsible to bathe and dry dogs according to bathing checklist standards.

Inspect skin and coat condition for each dog and reports any suspect health conditions or behavior problems to their Lead and/or Management.

Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of equipment and tools, the cleanliness of the bathing department, along with the washing and drying of used towels.

Responsible to keep rooms cleaned and sanitized between the use of each pet, along with the cleaning and sanitation of tubs, countertops, and grooming table

Responsible to assist in any cleaning and sanitizing inside and outside areas of the entire facility during their downtime.

Responsible for looking over all lodgers and lodger’s belonging to see if they are soiled. It is their responsibility to launder such items and return them to the appropriate guest. It also their responsibility to make sure every guest goes home smelling fresh regardless of the grooming instructions.

Responsible for maintaining and keeping up with all laundry for the whole facility. Laundry is to be constantly circulated to ensure all items are clean and available throughout the shift.
